Thanks very much - this tallies with my 1901 census and explains some of the discrepancies my Aunt has with my research.

Thanks for advice too - will consider Ancestry or FMP when my gold membership is up for renewal.

Don't go for platinum - better to spend your money on Ancestry or FMP. If you're looking for 1911 records as well as other census, then FMP has it and Ancestry doesn't.

I have the 1901 census details for my Grandfather Robert Cowan born 9/2/1901 in Halifax West Yorkshire ( same birthday as myself 9/2/53)

I have shared this with my Aunt - one of his daughters who I correspond with but she maintains that my Grandfathers siblings differ in name - a lookup for the 1911 might help me - I am at an early stage in my research so have not yet signed up for platinum.

Help from anyone would be great
