Hi,

How can I find out if a relative owned their home back in the 1940s? What records do I need to access? All I know is they may or may not have purchased a house in 12 Chapel Place Liverpool,L6, George James Long, maybe late 1930s early 40s. The street was demolished long ago.

Thanks

It is unlikely the Land Registry can help. Compulsory registration in Liverpool didn't arrive til many years later, well after WW2.

Sorry to pour cold water.
