Yes, Yes, Yes. Orchard Road certainly correct, and a ( vaguely ) known Staines connection. Thank-you all for your help. Lots of information contained herein that I didn't know, and lots for me to follow. So very much appreciated.

Thanks Lorraine. The Charles Benjamin that you found was his Dad, I think, and this would be the marriage to my grandmother, Ann Ray. Makes me think that, on reflection if Charles Junior born abroad. More research needed by me, I think. Thanks for looking these up - most appreciative.

Finding yourself must have been a surprise ! Thanks so much for the info, will certainly have a look. Regards. Caroline

Caroline Report 21 Aug 2010 15:47

I believe the children were born in UK. Emigrated between 1954 and 1960 I believe. Charles Crisp's occupation was a tailor, and he was based in Middlesex prior to departure. Sorry to be so vague, and thanks.

I not only found some of my cousins on there (£10 Poms in the late 50s and 60s) ........... but myself!! That was much ot my surprise, but I had got a job, applied to emigrate, then had to cancel. BUT I was still on file!

Caroline Report 20 Aug 2010 23:50

Thanks, that's good of you. Not much information really, but the name is Charles Benjamin Crisp, born c1909, his wife ( believed Irene Crisp ) They had two children believed to be a son and a daughter. Their destination, I think was Northern Territory. many thanks again.

Lorraine Report 20 Aug 2010 23:42

Caroline

Caroline Report 20 Aug 2010 23:38

Thanks. Haven't found my relatives on the passenger lists. A silly question probably, but do the lists include air travellers, do you know ? As you can tell, haven't tried to trace " abroad" branches of my tree before !
Thank-you again.

Lorraine

Lorraine Report 20 Aug 2010 23:30

Could anyone tell me whether children born in America to a USA father and British mother would be registered in USA and / or UK ? Also, could anyone advise how Brits emigrating under " Ten Pound Pom " scheme to Australia ( post WW2 ) can be traced ? All help much appreciated.
