I have been trying to find m,y G Grandfather - he is unknown on birth certificate but was the father of Vera Flatt born in Hackney 1902 at Salvation Army Home. Harriet(Flo) mother returned home to Mendham and her parents brought up Vera as their own.Parents were Catherine and George Flatt. It is lknown that he emigrated to Australia/New Zealand when Vera was a toddler. I have a photograph found hiddden who I believe is my G grand father.. does anyone know who he was. Thanks

It's impossible for anyone today to know who her father was if he was not named on the birth certificate.

The only thing I can suggest is if you put the photo you have that MAY be him onto this site in case anyone has seen this particular person in a photograph from their own family history.

I really don't hold out much hope of you finding his name though.

I would love to know who my grandmother's father was - again not named on the birth certificate and her mother was single at the time - but I'm certain in my own mind I will never know.
