Find Correct Marriages for Females

Sorry Somerset Girl you are right - my ones I found I did have the whole date of the birth - I thought I had tried just the months but I must have left the original date in.

Sorry bit embarrased now - but it does work if you have the birth cert - that is how I have found all my Smiths and that is a hard thing to do.

I had a problem - a female Annie M Smith - to find the correct marriage as didnt know what area was an impossiblity. I went to Findmypast - I had the birth cert - the death was quite possibly after 1984 so just put in Anne M - dont put in her maiden name - and then just her birthdate. It brought it up straightaway with the death and her married name.

I have tried this time and again and it works. Of course for example a Mary Smith there would be problems but if you have an unuual name and hopefully a middle name it is brilliant.

If you havent got the cert it takes a little longer but you know the quarter of the birth and just put in the 3 months individually and it still works because it gives you only those from that month.

Try it, you will see what I mean.
