if you have the GRO ref then order from
www.gro.gov.uk certs cost £9.25

If you want to contact the local office, google "registration districts" and look for the district of the GRO reference. It will lead you to where the registers are currently held.

freebmd is the place to find a birth registration for anywhere in England/Wales........IF the birth was between 1837 and approx 1940
