Names of those who served in WW1

If a person who served in WW1 did not to die would thier be any record of them having served in the war? If so, is there any websites where I would be able to find a record of them? More specifically of my great-grandfather William Looms who served in a Warwickshire regiment?

Military records can be found on ancestry.co.uk sure you have to subscribe to see them though.

Do you have any more info on William? (any middle name, parents name date of birth) and I will have a look for you

That could well be him Norma. I shall speak to my mum.

His name William Henry Looms
Born 2 March 1884 Attleborough Warwickshire
He was illigitimate however his mother was called Teresa Looms

The William that Norma found seems to be married to Bertha Ellen Boulton.
