Thanks Potty - don't know why it took me so long to think of that one! I suppose it's because I don't tend to look at the directories as there are so many listed to each page ...

Well done, Jill.

Found her!

Just in case anyone else has a similar stumbling block:

I looked for the surname in the telephone directories on Ancestry. I knew they'd lived in Whitstable for some years and there they were. Well, there she was from 1968 and a chap - Frank H Astle listed before that. And there was the marriage in 1926 with her frist name spelt as MargHuerita T Gregory.

whoop whoop!

Thanks Potty - I'll take a look at familysearch.

She had a son, but again, I don't know his name. I think this might all prove a bit fruitless - and there was me thinking "Marguerita Teresa marrying a chap called Astle - should be a doddle" pah.

Anyway, off for a pootle in the Record Search Pilot.

Cheers

Did she have any children? You might get her maiden name by searching for their births.

The Record Search Pilot on familysearch has Irish bmds but they are not as easily searchable as freebmd or Ancestry.

Can anyone help please?

Are there any Irish BMD records from around 1903 that I can have a look at online?

I'm trying to trace a Marguerita Teresa Astle nee _____ ?? I cannot find a marriage for her so I cannot track her maiden name ... Any ideas on that would be helpful too please!

I know she was born in County Kildare on 2 Nov 1902 and the family moved to England shortly afterwards.

She died in Mar 1989 in Canterbury.

Many thanks

Jill
