Would any body be able to tell me .. if an Ancestor came from Mexborough and was born in 1895 what Registration District and Parish would this area come under please in looking for Birth Registration etc.,

It's Doncaster. I always google "registration district Mexborough" or whatever and find it that way.

I hung around a bit and you kind people answered my query right away, appreciate that Jonesey and Brummiejan.

Hope Mexborough was about in 1895 lol Will try Doncaster don't seem to notice it that much on records for that year abouts.

For info:

Mexborough 1837 transferred to Don Valley district on 1.7.1938

Looks like it was around all right!

If no joy you could widen your search to the counrty, i.e. Yorkshire West Riding.
