I searched for Park Road Battersea and found number 15

I then looked at the original image and at the top of the page there is a box called "enumerators book images" underneath the that there is a box that says "list" click on "list"

it gives you other houses in the street and the name of the head of household together with the number of males and females in each residence

Hi Tempest,

Thanks for your reply, how did you find that.

on the enumerators list number 17 Park Road is uninhabited

Number 15 is occupied by Mrs Macqueen and 19 by Mr Davis

What I find confusing is that the census was taken two weeks before Florence married and she gave her address as number 17 so I would have thought it should be on the census.

I suppose the road could have been renamed, or the building could have been demolished.
It's very close to Battersea Dogs Home!

All numbers, odds and evens up to 16 then the majority of all the numbers after that but not 17.

Do you mean (eg) 15 and 19 are still there, but not 17?

Hi Maggie,

Sorry if I've confused you, the other numbers are listed but not number 17.

It may have changed names.
The 'Lost London Streets' site has indeed disappeared.

Could someone please advise me as to why I cannot find 17 Park Road Battersea in 1911 census,

In 1891 William Bennett, wife Jane and daughters Edith was living there. The family were still there in 1901 with another daughter Florence Gertrude c1885 at Battersea.

From the London marriages I have a copy of Florence's marriage which took place on 15th April 1911 in Battersea, her address is given as 17 Park Road. Now when I check the census on FMP and 1911 census.co.uk the address is not listed and the census was taken during the same month as the marriage.

I have found who I believe to be William and Florence in the 1911 census, listed with family elsewhere but cannot understand why I cannot find the Park Road address to check it.

Can any one advise me please.

Chris
