IGP.... I know only to well how slow that site is...I have spent HOURS searching through there for a marriage for 5x gr grandfather but so far no luck.....have the childrens baptisms and his 2nd marriage after wife died but not his 1st marriage.........so frustrating as its stopping me get back any further.

Sorry Nicky yes I did, bit of dyslexia creeping in. I had read FreeCen as FreeReg.

Another member also sent me a message to point out that the IGI pilot has parish registers, including Norfolk. so thanks to her too. These are scanned images and are not indexed, so you have to work through them page by page, and the site is not that fast.

IGP....did you mean freeREG? there are plenty of Norfolk parish records on there.


Though the familylabs site has complete parish records for Norfolk


freeCEN is only census information.

I have found FreCen extremely good for Norfolk, which has hardly any Parish Records on the IGI.

For those of you without a subscription to Ancestry and fmp or GR Gold for census info freeCEN has been updated today.

Its by no means complete, but has many records now, worth checking out before you ask for a lookup.
