The search facility is much better than GR because you can search with Christian names only or Shal* whereas you have to use a full surname on GR.

The baptism Ann posted won't be Frances as she was Cottrell before marriage.

Hmm yes maybe so, I definately think this one is going to take some panning out though! The 1848 wedding took place on Oct 10 according to Pilot family search.

I'd say it is likely that they are perhps cousins.

On saying that I can only see the 1898 marriage on Ancestry and not the 1848.

Hi, just wondering if someone could offer some knowledge perhaps. Using staffordshire bmd I searched for all marriages of Joseph Shallcross to Frances Cotrell. Intriguingly, two entries come up both for St Lawerence, Biddulph one in 1848 and one in 1898. (the one in 1898 being my 2 great grand parents). I am just wondering what the possibilites are they were related. I have tried looking for a Joseph and Frances Shallcross living together on the 1851 census etc. with no success though obviously they will be there somewhere. If anyone could shed any light on this then i would be really grateful
