Cheers Bob, it looks as if they were a local Militia around 1800

Hi,

I’m looking for any information on the 1st Regiment of Tower Hamlets circ 1804.

I’ve discovered a possible relative ( John Wakefield ) who was buried at St Mary’s Finchley on the 13th March 1804, the Parish records him as being of the 1st Regiment of the Tower Hamlets. Was the Tower Hamlets part of the regular army or the equivalent of today’s T.A.

Many Thanks

Brian
