Thanks for your help, the problem was caused by a street name change, I have a Relative who when got married he gave his address as 5 South Nicholson st , Sunderland, in Jan 1860,
The street had its name changer to to Tweed St in time for the 1861 Census, i found out the the house numbers were not changed, so i assume his parents address in 1861 would be 5 Tweed St, the family name was Robson.

Just because your relative gave that address on his marriage certificate does not mean that his parents will be living there.

I have lots of marriage certificates where the address is where the person was lodging, or the same address as the person they were marrying (because it was cheaper to give the same address as only one set of banns needed to be read).

I can't find a John and Eleanor in Sunderland with the birth details that you give.

Thanks Kath
what is odd is that John born 1805 died at 75 Tweed St in Mar 1862, so the family must have in the area in 1861, i am now thinking if the Address John Jnr of 5 South Nicholson St should in fact have been 75 South Nicholson St, which in turn became 75 Tweed St in the Road name change, hope i havent confused you, lol

No you haven't confused me. However I have had a look through the descriptions of the enumeration districts in Sunderland for the 1861 census and I can't see Tweed Street mentioned.

thats odd, as the street name changed was in early 1861, the census was taken in Mar 1861, this was confirmed by Sunderland council

Thanks

It's definitely there, but just not the right numbers. I've 'trawled' through Tweed Street, but no sign of the Robsons

Thanks for your help, there are some gaps in the house numbers, the enumerator should have stated if the houses were unoccupied or he missed them out.
