Is there a website I can use to find out why a relative was awarded the OBE?

Yes it should be on the London Gazette, I found one for 1971

Thanks guys, I have found him being granted a cbe from his obe in the London Gazette.

Tonight/tomorrow I will look for the obe listing. The CBE was in 1929 from memory

I can find William Glenny gaining his CBE after his OBE, but no record of his OBE.
Can anyone help? He got the CBE on July 29th 1929 and was born around 1874.

Any ideas? Have tried the London Gazette, but with no luck.
