Conscientious Objectors

Hi,
I have just discovered that an ancestor of mine was very probably a conscientious objector during the War. I think I have found his death registration (1937) but wondered if any of you have any tips about where to look for further information? Does anyone know of any records I could refer to which contain the names of 'conscientious objectors'? I have been told that my great uncle (by marriage) actually went to prison for his beliefs, but I have no idea where? Has anyone ever come across this in their family history research before? I would be grateful for any advice as to where to look now. Many thanks. Nicky

Thank you for that. I have checked out the NA and it would appear that a lot of the records were destroyed in 1921, and very little remains at Kew, which is a shame, but there we go, just means I will have to dig a bit deeper.

Thanks again.
