I said on this board some weeks ago that I was doing some research for a French lady who`s ancestor was born in my English village in 1836.

The communicatin was a little stilted as I spoke no French ans she spoke no English...but....a friend of a friend of mine translated everything that came to mer, and did the reverse when I sent stuff over to France.

I was very fortunate to find a distant relative through this site and I thank her very much for the info she gave me, with the added bonus to her, I could supply her with info she knew nothing about,

This had had a three fold effect....I have been kept busy doing something I love, the French lady has added unknown branch to her tree, and my helper here in the UK has also added info she knew nothing about.

This is such a rewarding hobby, though sometimes I call it a torture !!!
