Battenburg Report 12 Oct 2010 21:25

My grandmother was married twice. When my mum was born ( second marriage)gran gave her maiden name on the cert not her former married name.

Mum was also registered under grans former married name and also had the same maiden name. Reason being gran didnt marry granddad till mum was 14 months old

Maybe...????????

Marriages Mar 1910

COOPER Emily Rotherham 9c 1011
Naylor William Rotherham 9c 1011
Nettleship Theresa Rotherham 9c 1011 <<<<<<<<<
WALKER John Henry Rotherham 9c 1011<<<<<<

A Theresa WALKER later marries a Joseph FOSTER in Rotherham and there are 2 deaths in Rotherham ( 1920, 1923 ) of John H.WALKER, both in their 30s

A certificate of birth is your best bet, as previously stated.

Having had a quick look, there aren't many female Nettleships marrying ih the relevant years in Rotherham. If feeling enthusiastic you might cross-check for 2nd marriages - but personally I would get the cert!

Nor can I. I would be tempted to get the cert. It's possible they never married, or his mother was married before so her name at marriage was different. What a pity with such an unusual name!
