She wed a Henry Jackson May 19th 1882 and she was as listed as Penella Byrne her dads name was Nicholas Byrne occupation labourer.
They had a son named Thomas born 26 Oct 1884. Henry died 30th Oct 1884. She then wed my grandad John Jospeh Lewis in 1891 in curragh camp listed as Penelope Jackson but her father was listed as Michael Byrne occupation labourer. They had children John Joseph born 1892 Dublin, Christopher NIcholas born 1896 Dublin, their other children Patrick, William George & Anastacia were born Wolverhampton.
Thomas was listed as Thomas Lewis in 1901 census in Wolverhampton.
Penella was name Penelope had on her death certificate. See how confusing it is? Sorry for delay in replying!

Hi Slartibartfast,

there is a place called Oulart, it is between Gorey and Enniscorthy, Oylegate is further down towards Wexford itself.
Reg. area may be either Gorey or Enniscorthy.

Hi Im trying to trace the birth of my gt grandmother Penelope Byrne c.1864 Oylegate Wexford. She also went by the first names Ellen or Penella so i suppose her birth record could have those on it as well. I was thinking of contacting the roman catholic church in Oylgate to see if they could help does anyone know of a website or where i can get a list of RC Churches in oylegate? I have tried googling but nothin obvious is showing up?? Thanks
