If you have a message from that person, across the top of the message it should say "Access to tree Allow" Click on "Allow".

There are a number of ways to get to the option, but if you go to 'My Contacts' you will see the word Allow next to a x under the Column Access to your tree.

This is actually a link. Click on it, you will be asked to confirm, and it will change to the word Stop with a tick against it.
