Hi, this is a long shot but I am currently working on my partners family tree who is on a budget and I am wondering if there is any way I could name the parents of Selina Copeland born 1916 Tunstall, without having to purchase her birth certificate. If it of any help, she married George Elms in 1934.

Her birth reg will give her mothers surname than you can trace marriages with that combination of names

well you could look for her birth on FreeBMD, the mothre's maiden name would be recorded at that time

Thanks that is a great idea, however I have just tried looking for her on Genes and freeBMD however, I can't find a record of her. I am only able to find one of Staffordshire BMD but that does not allow for this feature. I'll keep trying.
