when you say 'load' Tony, do you mean you are trying to look for a birth and the reference isn't coming up?

I may be wrong in assuming that, if so ignore me lol.

Oh Tony you dont get the actual certificate, only the registered details,
area /place of birth --ie Bethnal Green etc.,
names,
year,
an index number
and maiden name of the mother

any more information is on the certificate which you have to buy,

But then it says view original document.thats when it says loading page.

My wife has two references for her birth.

It means you can view the page with the list of reference numbers on - NOT the actual certificate which you have to buy.

If your wife has two references for her birth are they both in the same name or two separate surnames?

Both have the same surname. But mothers surname has changed.

If there is just a slight difference in the way the mother's maiden name has been spelt then it has probably just been entered twice because whoever transcribed the records wasn't sure which was right.

If the surname is completely different on each record then I'm not sure why this would happen.

If you want to send the details in a pm then I will have a look on Ancestry and see what it is on there.

If you click on my name you will get a box comes up where you can type a private message (=pm) that only comes to me (i.e. cannot be seen by everyone on the boards so it's useful for confidential messages). When you have typed your message you click the "send" button.

Your mother in law married in 1966 and reregistered the birth.
marriage
Basford 3c 300

KathleenBell Report 18 Oct 2010 23:02

The M'66 refers to the March qtr. of 1966. The birth must have been re-registered in the March quarter of 1966 - perhaps if you look there you will find the details for the correct birth reference.

I can't quite understand why there would be two different mother's maiden names though - maiden name shouldn't change really!!

I have replied Tony. When the message comes through you should get an email from Genes and where it says "messages" in the dark green bar above the message board there should be a white envelope. Click on this to read the message.
