It shows the father of the bride and of the groom. The site given to you clarifies what is given, when known, on all English certificates.

I have only ever had to order Scottish certs which show both parents.
Do you know if there are any english certs that would show both parents ?

Sorry should have realised it would be the birth certificate ( haven't had a 2nd cup of coffee yet )

This site will give you details of what is on a marriage cert.

http://home.clara.net/dixons/Certificates/marriages.htm

They only show the father's names of bride and groom, if known and occupation.
