Perhaps he was just a boarder or lodger or perhaps they lived together???

I really don't think you are going to find out WHY he paid for the grave unless someone in the family knows for about it.

Having a quick look earlier i found he didn't marry till 1927... Reginald was 7/8 yrs younger than my Aunt and lived at the same address

No, I haven't found anything on Celia (apart from the death record) but I just thought that as a Baker would have been a good living then he may have paid for a grave for an employee whose family couldn't afford one. I could be completely wrong. Maybe she was a nurse to his children? Just ideas for you to think about really.

I see from the 1911 census that Reginald was a journeyman Baker. Could Celia have worked for him?

Hi ya...
Got a bit of a problem...
My Great Aunt Celia died in Eastbourne 1921... Have out where she was buried... discovered that her grave was paid for by reginald charles spice born 1896 in croyden died 1966 in eastbourne... Does anyone have any information on this man???
