My husband's great grandfather died at sea in 1885. I have found the probate details that show the date of death but I can not find any notification in the BMD of his death. Does anyone know where I can find details so that I can get more information about the circumstances of his death.
Many thanks

I believe FMP has deaths at sea but can't help as I don't have a sub.

His name was George Askew and he died on 24th October 1885. All I know is that he was a marine engineer and lived in Hartlepool. I appreciate that it is not much to go on but if you are able to help I would be very grateful

thank you
