There's a thread somewhere that lists load of sites, free or otherwise.

But it can be a bit baffling to newbies as it is a very long list. Probably better to post on here when you're stuck and ask where else you might be able to look.

Better when the site is free but only because the work is done by volunteers

Many thanks to those who help us newbies. Someone suggested searching FreeBMD. I didn't know it existed. I've since done several searches for those I thought may have been widowed then remarried. I have tied up several loose ends on my tree.
