Thank you everyone for that does make it so much clearer as I think that pneumonia can be a complication of measles.

Hi Norma, I think Jan is right in saying it is measles.

I have just looked in my nurses dictionary and found the word morbilliform which is a rash resembling that of measles.

In a 1930s edition it has got Morbilli in it which says it is measles.

I believe it's measles. Try a google search and you will find it.

I have just recieved a death cert for a 2 year old child who died in 1879.
The cause of death is
Morbilli
Pneumonia
The Glossary of Old Medical Terms does not list Morbilli.
does anybody have any ideas what this could be.
