Freda,

It is always best to stick to 1 thread.... GR actually do state this otherwise "us" volunteer helpers end up duplicating work all ready done. And very often if 1 of us volunteers can't find them then it is very doubtful that any other would.

FannyByGaslight is very thorough and she must have looked for all the same things as I have done.

Thanks Maureen for pointing it out.

I have Thomas - yes but have not traced him as yet. Do not know where he belongs in the tree. George P Boorn is the son of George Boorn and had a very sad life and a bad ending to his life according to his death cert and newspaper clippings from the Glasgow Herald. He was also Bankrupt in the end. I think that Thomas Law and Thomas Day are one and the same person - although one census says he was born England and the other Glasgow.

I am trying to find out more about my Boorn family. George Boorn b abt 1826 London, married Eliza Fossit/Fawcet/Fossett b. abt 1824 London in Sept. 1847 Gloucestershire. Cannot find anything to back up this information. George and Eliza moved to Edinburgh and can be seen in the 1861 Census at 335 Canongate along with their family. All born England. In 1861 George is a Photographer. He must have joined the army because subsequent certificates show this. I cannot find him dying however he is alive in 1869 but deceased in 1871 according to the marriages of his twodaughters. Where can I go from here? Any help would be appreciated.
