Hi there Gwyn, Sorry i have not replyed to your last message regarding Grace Bridger as i have been out of town for a few days. My Grace Bridger was born Grace Mcgee and married a Richard Bridger. It is quite possible that she was born around the time that you have suggested, however i could not find a Grace Mcgee around this time. The Death certificate that i have obtained in the name of Richard Bridger does infact state that he did indeed die in the Sutton and Cheam Hospital which comes under the Surrey mid-Eastern registration district. Can you enlighten me any further, any info will be most welcome. yours Petmar.

Is this the correct Grace

Name: Grace Bridger
Birth Date: 12 Apr 1895
Death Registration Month/Year: 1982
Registration district: Surrey Mid Eastern
Inferred County: Surrey
Volume: 17
Page: 0226

Just wondering if her husband would have the same area of registration.

Kay???? He married on the 08.06.1917 to a Grace Mcgee and on certificate he puts his father George William Bridger as a "cats meat" dealer
They had one child my late mother Ann catherine Bridger and on the marriage certificate to my late father, she puts her fathers profession as "salesman" and as i have mentioned earlier he was selling the "cats meat"
i am not aware that he had any middle name and during my researches, that is RBs birth certificate, 1901 and 1911 censuses and on the marriage certificates there is know mention of any middle name.

giving age as 18 years 1 month on the 24th May 1918 and born Tooting.he was a cartman? prior to that.

Hi There Kay????, Yes, i did find this Richard bridger and i sent for his death certificate which i received today, however the details of his employment and the person to whom he was married to does not seem to bearout the info that i have been given, which i have already admitted is very limited to say the least.
That said he was the only RB that i found on the records up to 1960 that came close to the age of my granfather.

Just seen this one, so maybe this is the 1889 birth....?

Deaths Mar 1900

Bridger Richard William ..10 .. Strand 1b 523

This makes Kay's posting still a good possible even though there is a middle name at death.

One of my relatives married 3 times and it was only at his 3rd wedding that he suddenly acquired a middle name.

maybe petmar can add any further info to his thread for you .ie,,middle name ?

Kay

that could well be correct

even though the birth registration is for Richard Bridger, registered Fulham, he is Richard W Bridger on the 1891 Census

in reply to your request as to where he lived, i am afraid that my information on that is a little sketchy, however i am aware that during the the 1930s and 40s he lived in the Isleworth/Hounslow area of what was then Middx and sold "cats meat" locally from his bicycle and i also believe he may well have had a small shop i that area.
Hope this might be of some help.

Peter, I'll see if I can find it for you on Ancestry, but it would help if you could say where he lived.

FreeBMD is the best resource for births, marriages and deaths - http://www.freebmd.org.uk/ but their transcriptions for deaths are presently only up to the mid 1940s.

I am having difficulty in finding the date of death of my maternal grandfather a Richard Bridger dob 09.05.1890, and i wondered if their is any site that i might beable to sourse where i can use the birth date as a guide to my research. I have every reason to believe that he was alive after my birth (15.11.41) and i have searched the death records available on this site up to 1960 without success. Any guideness will be most welcome.
