Hi George, Can I say WOW, that has just tracked down lots of family members I would never have put as living under one roof! Absolutely great info, thanks so much.

Your'e very welcome
On the original record George & mary Duckhouse had 8 children by 1911 5 living 3 had died.

For Thomas & Mary Ann Lines had 3 children 2 living 1 had died by 1911

Good Morning George, just taking another look and find what you say about George and Mary (actually it's Nancy, most probably couldn't read Many Ann Waterhouses writing!), George and Nancy were my great grandparents, I knew that they had lost one son in infancy and I have his death cert and this was known in the family, but didn't know about the other two - interesting!
Likewise Thomas & Mary Ann Lines, knew about Frank & Edgar as my mother knew of them, but again nothing of the one they lost. Seems that the 1911 census can be most revealing, mind if I ask which site you use to access it and do you find it cost effective?
Thanks again
Karen
P,S. Can't help thinking how many folk were living in that house and most of them adults, must have been very cosy! Just thought I can't account for Dolly Duckhouse born 1902, wonder who's child she was - another mystery for me to solve.

Karen

I use the FMP 1911 census.

Link

http://www.findmypast.co.uk

I have a 6 months subscription to the site cost about £32-00, i have now reached the point where i have found all i want to know about my ancestors, but i have found so much information i wouldn't have known about, wouldn't have done without it.

Cost effective? i didn't look at that aspect I'm afraid i just wanted to know the info, much depends how many folk you are looking for, if its only a small number you can always use the pay to view system, but i still think a 6/12 months sub is better, the credits soon get swallowed up.
I think its cost £1-00 to view 1 transcript and £3-00 to view the original, this is where you find most info, and its nice to see the handwriting of your ancestors, those that could read or write of course, and the details of how many children they had, how many are living and died, although you don't get the names of those who died, but occasionally names of those who died have been listed by the parents but they get crossed out.

I would not use the Platinum sub on GR to access the 1911, i understand you don't get all the info, i might be wrong on that though.

Hope this helps

George

Thanks for that George, sounds like FMP may be the way for me to go. I seem to think that once I start looking for one family member I'll want to do the lot so subscription would be better value.
Thanks again for all your help
