On the 1841 census I found a record for a family member who was recorded as being in 'Swaffham gaol and house of correction' at that time. Does anyone know if there are records I can access to try and find out what he was in for?

Criminal registers 1791 - 1892 are on ancestry. Post the name if you want a lookup.

Can someone please look up on Ancestry Criminal Register 1791 to 1892 for William Brogan, born 1856. I'm looking for an imprisonment in Wandsworth Prison in April 1891 (as per 1891 Census), not December 1891 old Bailey.
Many thanks
