Have a look at this site http://www.institutions.org.uk/workhouses/england/lon/bethnal_green_workhouse.htm

I looked at records for a nearby workhouse at the London Metropolitan Archives 40 Northampton Road, London

My grandmother was taken into a workhouse with my mother who woudl have been around 4 years and brother 1 or 2 years.
They lived in bethnal green area. I beleive my grandfather left them - and the reason for them going into the workhouse. I have searched. it was around 1914 . name Norton
