Hi all,

Does anyone know if there is a way on the Free search on the 1911 Census that you can see who a person was residing with and where, rather than searches on individual names. I thought I had done this before but that may have been when I was using credits.

I can see a Norman Hosking born in 1894 age 17, in the District of Penzance, in the County of Cornwall, and i can bring up his father, James H Hosking, age 58 in the District of Penzance, in the County of Cornwall.

His mother is Mary b 1852, and his siblings (who may have left home by this date anyway) are: James b 1879, Richard b 1889 and Edwin b 1889.

Any suggestions or help would be greatly appreciated!

Thank you

Rach

I checked on Genes 1911 census and only Norman and Edwin were still at home with parents.

Grace

to answer your question

Yes there is .......... on 1911census.co anyway

Find the one person

Note where he/she is living

Click on Search again (must be Advanced Search)

clear forename, leave Surname in

Clear birth year (if used)

Clear where born if entered

Click on county of Residence

Click on place of Residence

Enter your person's forename in Other Persons in Household

Click Search

If you know the forename of someone else who should be in the household, you can also try entering their forename in the Other Persons, separating individuals by commas

It becomes more difficult to find someone with a different surname, as you then have to go through the alphabet, entering a, then b, then c, etc in Surname, clicking on Names beginning with, and having the full name of your person in the Other Person in the Household
