Is their an age ??

I am trying to establish whether the witness on a marriage cert is the sister or the Aunt of the bride, was their a minimum age to which you could witness the marriage (the bride was 17)..........if it is the sister she would of only been 14 years, and the Aunt would of been 31.

I read in a Family History magazine of quite young witnesses.
