I have a marriage of James Dowie and Andrina Heatlie in 1886 in Newington Edinburgh, they were both 26 at the time. I cannot for the life of me find either of them in the 1891 or the 1901 census, i cannot find any death entrys or children either. James parents are given as Ann Frew Dowie deceased and ****-Blair Dowie also deceased at the time of their marriage. Andrina is with her parents in Selkirk Scotland in 1881 but her name is written as Andrewina not Andrina, i have tried looking for James in the 1881 Scottish census but because i cant read his fathers name properly on the marriage certificate i have found it impossible. Please can someone have a look at see if they can spot the couple in 1891 or 1901 presumeably they are still in scotland. Will be back on later.xx
thankis in advance

Thank you very much for finding that, it could explain why i cant find the couple in 1891 especially if they went to Australia were James was born.xx

Hi glitterbaby
Thanks for that, it certainly looks like a good possibility of the right James, i will go and have a closer look at it. Do you know if there are any census records for Australia as they may have gone back there to live after getting married?
