You can access WW1 service records on GR, ancestry and other sites. They are free if you have a subscription. I have to go to work now so cannot help further, but I am sure someone on here will help you more.

Or you could take a trial period on ancestry..... B UT you have to remember to cancel or they will automatically take the money from your account.

I can't find a Service or Pension record for him - only about 40% survive.

'Emma'

'Emma' Report 10 Dec 2010 12:09

Didn't see the CWGC one, my Jame's parents were
James Third Summers and Mary Smith and James
b1883 would have been 32 in 1915.

Hello Margaret well everything fits except birth place as on
certificate its Fraserburgh and it shows Dundee, not unless
he was living there and assumed when he enlisted he lived
there also.

Potty Report 10 Dec 2010 13:59

Emma/Margaret

The Regimental No in the entry Margaret posted is the same as the CWGC one I posted (8538) and that one has the wrong parents for Emma's man.

Emma, where did you get your James's date of death from?

'Emma'

'Emma' Report 10 Dec 2010 14:11

Hi Potty I have his death from a reliable source
who researched him as he is part of his family.
I could not find his death anywhere so I presume
this is correct!
