Hi All,

i am trying to find my Grandfather James Hazlett and his wife Susan Jane Payne in County Leitrim, Ireland. I got in touch with the Leitrim Genealogy
Office but they do not have records prior to 1954. Could anyone tell me what to do next please.

Yes this is the family I have the details of the children but cannot find the birth dates of the father James Hazlett and his wife Susan Payne. I have the death certificates of them both but not the birth or the marriage certificates. Thank you very much for the information to date Slartibarfast

Thanks Startibarfast it looks like I am going to need a lot of luck sorting this one out. Why is tracing relatives in Ireland so difficult ?

cheers

Hi James,

It might be a good idea to put IRELAND in your thread title and to come back to this thread regularly in case anyone needs to ask you questions.
Also copy and paste any replies with info in case they delete their posts again.....

Have a look at this thread it's all tips for Irish research.....

There's quite a difference in the possible year of births?
James born between 1853 & 1859
Susan born between 1860 & 1864

Have you got them in any other census James?

Thanks Cathy

I see that there is quite a difference in ages between the 1901 and the 1911 census. I don't know how I missed that. No they are not in any other census that I know of. Thanks again |James.
