Electoral roll records would probably be held in the main library in Bournemouth.

You could contact the library to see if they would be prepared to do a look up for you. If not you may need to make a trip to the seaside!!

Hello, can anyone tell me anything about the electoral roll please?

My grandfather Arthur Burge married his first wife, Agnes Wells, July 14th 1926 in Bournemouth. His position at the time was that of a live-in chauffeur and Agnes was a housekeeper from the house two doors away. They lived at 200 and 206 Old Christchurch Rd, Bournemouth. I would like to know who the family were that my grandad worked for as it may shed some light on a few family stories. As it's 1926, the census is obviously not accessible but I thought I may be able to use the electoral roll. Does anyone know if this is something that may help and how I could access it, or if there is any other way I may be able to find the information? I don't think Arthur and Agnes had any children and I don't know how to find out anything about them from 1926 onwards. Any ideas? I know they divorced at some point and my grandad eventually married my nan (he was with her by 1932), but his life with Agnes is a complete mystery.

Any advice greatly appreciated.
