Hot Match Updates


NOT a sure fire way of knowing that a person has been active recently


The computerized system that GR uses for Hot Matches just checks through about 100 names and then matches them for you


Next time, they begin at the beginning again



I'm getting mostly the same matches now that I got 5 years ago,

and almost always for the same tree owners!


To make matters worse .......... I myself gave those people the information!

sorry not being rude , before i crash out.
hes only opened one of my messages, the1st one. but never replied.
the reason i know hes been active is thru hot match updates. iwill check f/book etc etc t-morrow when sober

First

Has he opened any of the pms you have sent to him?

If the envelopes are still purple, then he has not opened them. If they are green then he has opened and read them


Why are you sure that he has had recent activity on the baords?



There are many reasons why people do not respond to pms ......... death, illness, lost interest, no longer look in on GR, have changed their email address and not notified GR so they do not receive notification, etc etc


Unfortunately, there is no other way for you to contact him than through GR


IF you are absolutely certain that he ha been active on here recently, AND that that activity has been on one or more of the boards, then you could try posting on that same board a thread headed with his name ............ and hope that he sees it.



Your other alternatives are to

look on 192.com .......... you have to pay to see details.

OR join Friends Reunited, and see if he is on there .... that's free

hi all,
ive been trying for 2 years ,to get a gr member to reply to my messages.(found on hot matches).poss still not a member, but sure hes had recent activity.
the thing is, he has a direct cousin ,plus children and gchildren on his tree.the children are more my age, eldest born 1959.(im born 1954) my cousin was born 1925.
i would love to get in touch because their grandad was my dads elder brother.
but i dont know how to trace more modern relatives,
any help appreciated.
