I think it is possible to leave a message with the authority that the adoption was through in case your brother/half-brother decides to look for his birth family.

Is it possible that you were both adopted through the same agency? Do you have your own adoption file? I would get in touch with the relevant agency first of all to see if they can help.

There are people on this site who know a great deal more about adoption than me. Hopefully they will see your post and be able to help more.

Help needed,
I have looked on this site for an answer ,but the hours are clicking bye.....
I have my birth in 1941 Grantham , just my mother's name on it ,( no clue as to whether she is married or widowed etc )
I was adopted in 1947,
have just recieved a birth cert , 1946, same mother as myself,
same Workhouse/ hospital, same address.
I beleave this person is my brother or half brother.
problem ......if he was also adopted by a family , how would I begin to find him, ( name most likley being changed as my name was.)
thank you Ela
