Elwiss ancestry
All the names Annie to Edna were the children of Charles Elwiss and Hannah(Gill)
John William Elwiss and Elizabeth H Radcliffe had a son William S bn 1912 Thanet Kent.
Took some time for the penny to drop but I have got it now.

I have to rethink now about the Elwiss ancestry.
All I have been given is Annie Elwiss bn 1901c and she married George Stanhope who lived Rawdon Yorks.
My initial findings were:- George Elwiss bn 1849 Amarats married Charlotte Tuke bn 1952 Saltmarsh. They had John bn 1871 Ann E bn 1874, Charles bn 1876 and Rose E bn 1878 1st two children bn Horsforth the others bn Headingley. John bn 11871 married Elizabeth Radcliffe bn 1874, bn Annie bn 1901 does not appear on the 1911 census details you sent ?????
Will look over my details and see if there is something I have overlooked.

Sorry if I appear a bit vague on this family but I am researching it for my friend.
Annie was his mother, and Annie's sisters were:-
Dorothy bn 1906 -- Agnes bn 1914 -- Maggie bn 1917 -- Edna bn 1920 who married Harry Tate
I have found the dates of births also the marriage of Edna having been told her married name was Tate.

The wife of Charles was Hannah as you informed me.
Could i ask you for details of the 1911 census on John Elwiss bn 1871 and his wife Elizabeth bn 1874.

I have found John Elwiss bn 1871 ( married Elizabeth Radcliffe ) - Ann E bn 1874c,- Charles bn 1876c,- Rose bn 1878c being the children of George Elwiss bn 1849 and Charlotte Tuke bn1852.
I was told that Elizabeth was poss the name of GGM which is right and that the GGF may be Charles.
So I will have to find the marriage of Charles bn 1876, was his wife's name Elizabeth?

This is the closest I can find. The sisters may have been born after 1911 census taken. There is also a family with a Dorothy born 1906 but no Annie along with somebody surname Gill. When you look for Agnes birth the surname Gill comes up for the mother.if this ties in.

Looking for family of Annie Elwiss bn 1901c who married George Stanhope.
Have been given sisters names - Maggie, Edna M, Dorothy and Agnes.
Parents names John and Elizabeth, I think.
If I have the right family the sisters Annie and Maggie and rest were all registered as born Wharfedale Yorks.
