Hi,
I am having trouble trying to trace a birth certicate for Caroline JONES
born in American Somoa. Born about 1889.
Believe her mother was also Caroline or Eliza.
She returned to Britain and is shown on the 1891 census. I have now drawn a complete blank.
Can any kind person please help me/
Many thanks,
Shirley.

Thank you for your replies.
The Grandmother of Caroline Jones is my Grt.Grt. Grandmother.
I remember my mother saying that my grt.grt.grandmothers daughter emigrated to America and returned a few years later.
Thank you once again for reading this.

Just as I've tried it, might be worth noting, if putting a place for a birth on Ancestry , in the immigration and emigration section...add 'America' and the first 'option' which pops up is "American Samoa" so I suspect that's just a glitch when transcribed.
