thank you i will try looking on scotlandspeople, I have scotts adoption certificate and Alan was adopted by the same people so the info will be the same.

Only England and Wales are shown on this site. Scottish birth, Ms & Ds records can be found on Scotlandspeople.

Not sure if you can order any adoptive certificates - hopefully some one with experience (even better if with Scottish experience) can advise.

Do try asking for the ER look up from ContraryMary...to rule them out if nothing else.

Wow it has taken me all evening to get here and im so grateful for all your replies,
I think I will look at Keohane now as Alan Wilson is so common Scott just assumed he'd reverted back to his birth name,
I found 192.com hard to use probably me being a biff lol
I have found two on this site and sent messages
Alan was born 1976 East kilbride
Adopted Dec 1983
If they are ADOPTED will this prevent access to birth register ? I have birth certificates but its not coming up on these records ?

Samantha's name has Keohane as her surname, which makes it a lot easier than Wilson.

You could try asking ContraryMary on Records - she has a look up offer for Electoral Rolls

Not entirely sure if it covers Scotland, but worth asking about the 2 x Keohane's BettyLou found. .

If he is going by the name of Wilson, it's going to be much more difficult.

Have you tried 192.com? There seems to be 2 with the name Alan Keohane in Scotland.

Electoral rolls search - how common is keohane as a surname- or is it now Wilson? Also Friends Reunited as know the school.

I am new at this and am tryng to assist my fiance in finding his brother ALAN WILSON, they were adopted together at a young age with surname KEOHANE.
Lost contact after Alan left adopted home and now a few years on would like to know where to start looking
Born in scotland and believe Alan lives in Scotland now. Had contact few years later but sadly Scott lost his number due to his celebrations after Alan getting in touch. Really would like to know where to start
