To add to what George has said, you need to look on FindMyPast to save going to Kew, for any service records pre 1913, and Ancestry for WW1 (the record on Ancestry, if there is one, should include his previous service)

David

There is plenty of info on the Northampton regmt if you Google.

One example the Regimental museum, if you contact them they may help you further

His service records maybe at Kew if they have survived, but you may have to go there to see them.Google National Archives.

Did he go on to serve in WW1, WW1 Army records are on Ancestry

There are Military records on Find my Past, but these are subscription sites, i dont have a sub for FMP.

Hope this helps

Hi
My grandfather joined the Northampton Regt of the British Army in 1892,
and was posted to India out of the Jersey regimental barracks in 1896/7.
I understand that the Jersey barracks was demilitarized at the begining of the second world war.
Does anyone know where I may find information amout this Regt or where I would look for my grandfathers service record.
Thanks
David
