Marriage help please

I am looking to confirm a marriage, but have come up with two possibles, and wondered if some one could kindly help.

Brides name would be:

Eileen May Winchester
Born about 1925, Her mothers maiden name was Gibbons I believe.
She would have married I believe about 1949. Camberwell, London.

I have done a bit of checking and found 2 possibles, on free bmd,
One in 1946 and one in 1949 (which I think could be the right one) but am now unsure. Both show Eileen M Winchester.

Is there any way of finding out for sure?

not without buying the marriage certificate


OR if they had children and you know the names of them, you could look on freebmd for children with christian anme and mmn

Am not sure if they had children, One of the Eileen's, possibly had a child before she married, who was adopted.

Might do a search any way - you never know what might come up.

Hi,

Eileen M Winchester b. sept q 1921 Camberwell., mother Gibbons. Most likely marriage, Sept q 1919 Camberwell to Ronald J Hemsley.

One child found ,

Lloyd D Hemsley, b. march q 1952 Camberwell.

Death for ,

Eileen May Hemsley, Feb q 1993 Lambeth 71 yrs, b. 7th june 1921.

All above would need double checking but look a good possibilities.

had same problem so i bought it instead,if you know the two registry offices where they was married give them a ring first that helped me no end,but it does seem to get harder as i cannot find my grand parents marrage certifictes any where as do not know the date they got married except one was a gravel and the other one was a powell hill so completely stuck hoping someone can help on here if i ever find how to get on this site regards good luck lynne
