The same rules of doctor-patient confidentiality apply to autopsy examinations as to medical records of living patients. This means that doctors are not allowed to reveal the results of an autopsy examination to third parties without the permission of the next-of-kin of the deceased.

wouldn't this be a very private record, I doubt these are made public

and if there was no inquest, then no suspicion, the cause of death will be on the cert you have

Can anyone help - I would like to search a post mortem done on a Henry George Reynolds who died in Hoddesdon in 1972. I have the death certificate which states Post Mortem without inquest by the coroner for the district of hertford.
