Of course the Executor could be a beneficiary as well ...

The Executor. They're the ones who are "given" the money to distribute according to the terms of the will.

Hi,

I wonder if someone can help clarify something for me please? I have been looking at the Index of England and Wales National Probate Calendar now searchable on Ancestry.com. I know I will need to purchase the full Will for exact details but in the index when it says probate left to (name) is that the person(s) who is named as the executor of the Will or the name of the beneficiary(s)?
Any guidance would be most welcome - thank you.
