Hi
I am looking for the birth of a thomas rothwell c1943/4 thought to have been born in leigh area of lancashire. his father was thomas rothwell and his mother was ivy. i have found the marriage of thomas and ivy hulme but cant find thomas's birth.
i have looked outside of lancashire but cant find a thomas with mothers name of hulme.
any help would be much appreciated

What I have posted is only a possibility. Whilst it is certainly a strong possibility as Leigh is less than 10 miles from Manchester (As the crow flies) to confirm facts you will really need to obtain a copy of Ivy Hulme's marriage certificate to Thomas Rothwell. That should indicate Ivy's status at married, Spinster, Widow ect.

Researching:
Don't put off until tomorrow doing what you can do today. If you like doing it today you can do it again tomorrow. Be kind to your children for it is they who will decide which care home you end up in.

thanks jonesey i have at least a starting point and i can now apply for some certs. i just was unable to find any connection and your help has given me something to go forward with. fingers crossed .

This is the Rothwell/Hulme marriage from Lancashire BMD. Whilst not wanting to dispute the second marriage theory, LancsBMD usually shows maiden and 1st married surnames for second marriages:
