Maybe, if they were registered, the details never made it to the GRO.

The local register office will be able to confirm whether there were birth registrations.

The Register Office, 2 Long Street, Williton, Taunton, TA4 4QN.

Good luck

It is always possible that the births were never registered. In the early days of registration quite a lot were missed - many thought it unnecessary if the child had been baptized, or were wary of the new system. Whilst most were registered as the years went by, it wasn't made compulsory until 1875

It is also possible the children were born much earlier. I have an example in my wife's family where a number of children whose ages ranged from a few months to several years old were all baptized at the same time. Can you confirm their ages from later documentation, i.e. Census returns?

I have details of baptisms for Sarah & Elizabeth Morse on 6 July 1841 in the Parish of Carhampton Somerest, daughters of Robert Morse & Jane Heard but I can't find a birth for them.
