I have a male relative born c1781 in Scotland and married in 1806, is there any way I can find his birth and parents names? |

Thank you Shirley, I've tried Familysearch but can't find his birth on there, only his marriage and children. I dont know about Scotlandspeople, would that give parents names? |

His baptism record should show father's full name and possibly his mothers, but if it is a common name it would be difficult to prove that it is your man. Did he die in Scotland after 1855? If so, his death record on scotlandspeople should show his parents' names. It is not a free site - you buy credits, 30 for £6. |
